Figuratively speaking, cyclones represent those uncomfortable or unpleasant events that take us to higher places.  We must tear down before we can rebuild.  Cyclones help us do that.  In psychology, this is a disintegration process that usually manifests as a sign of spiritual growth.  Inner tensions resulting from cognitive dissonance, unresolved complexes or adversarial experiences make us face what it is about ourselves that needs to change.  Most of the time we can take notice of these forces and harness them before they reach such destructive potential.  Yet sometimes, a tornado is just the kind of winds of change needed to push us off the edge.
